EURONAMED II: SME or Research Center/ University for research activity of a novel multimodal imaging agent to be used for Glioblastoma (GBM) therapy.
A research team from Greece in collaboration with a research team from Norway are preparing a proposal to the ERA-NET EuroNanoMed II seventh Joint Call for Proposals for supporting transnational innovative research projects in Nanomedicine (http://www.euronanomed.net/joint-calls/7th-joint-call-2016/).
Main objective of the project is the investigation of a novel multimodal imaging agent that will eventually be used for targeted therapy of Glioblastomas (GBM) in brain tumor patients.
They are urgently looking for a biomolecular engineering partner; (SME or Research Center/ University) that will impart multiple therapeutic capability to a self-assembled, multimodal nanoparticle molecular imaging agent system.
In particular the biochemistry partner should have a demonstrated capability to chemical methodologies that can allow further «functionlisation» of such nanostructures with the purpose to operate as vehicles to deliver reduced-toxicity chemotherapy-related drugs, which together with the materials’ intrinsic hyperthermia potential, would target Glioblastoma (GBM).
In vivo-MRI of brain tumors will be utilized to evaluate the therapeutic process entailing such complex bioactive substances and demonstrate the proof-of-concept.
Eligible countries to participate in the call are: Belgium, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain. The deadline for submitting the proposal is February 11th 2016.
